Located only a few metres above one of Vienna’s biggest shopping streets, our office provides a safe viewpoint to observe the ongoing shopping fever around Christmas.
Long before opening time, it seems to be impossible to get a seat in public transportation and people tend to hurry more than usual. Unfortunetely. during day the initial festive mood dissappears – Induced by the approximating, unpreventable deadline on Christmas Eve, people get moody, aggressive and unpredictable. Not until the last shop has closed, the streets regain their pleasant silence.
Meanwhile, at the office we carry it off well. Despite last-minute Christmas shopping in the morning (with thousands of like-minded people), we manage to maintain a cheerful atmosphere until closing time. It needs definitely more than Christmas stress to throw our team out of balance.

Monika,
I totally agree with you! But additional to the stress it really gives me a ‘safe-heaven-feeling’, to look at the crowd and see that financial crises didn’t enter our shopping streets in Austria!
So far!
Cheers
