2009: Screened, not stirred.

Raster elements are popular again. From small squared to big chequered, everything’s in the square. Are we speaking of temporary fashion in the shop windows of the current winter* clearance sale? Nothing of the sort. We are talking about quadratic tuned web layouts.

Surprisingly many styleguides of our clients take grid systems as a basis for the next re-design of their websites. Nothing may fall out of this hip aligment, everything has its well defined position. A four, five or ten pixels wide raster seems to be the new way to go.

Corporate websites suddenly appear tidied up, contentwise elaborated and well-balanced. It’s not yet in sight how long this tide will last. Currently we are excitedly looking at the next season right in front of us – where strict and limited layouts demand highly creative solutions in order to implement cutting edge financial reports like ours.

* Oh, how we are starving for a snatch of sunshine…
