Just installed the new Mozilla Firefox 3.5 release which has been available for download starting this afternoon.
Less memory usage, faster page load, personalizing the browser look… uhm… well, nothing to be too crazy about from a Web developer’s point of view?
Some new features seem to be irresistible though: apply full zoom, open recently closed windows (not only tab or session related recovery anymore), clear only a desired history segment, or revel the online application support (e.g. enabling you to choose your _Web_mail client to launch when clicked on an email address). A handful of other spicy Web 2.0 compatible tools like the “location aware browsing” (share information about your current location) or tagging your bookmarks really top this browser release off.
Color correction for tagged images, SVG effects to html content, easily embedded video and audio (using the new <audio> and <video> tags) or dynamic content injection – our Web programmers at nexxar.com are obviously pleased!
Even the more paranoid Web-junkies among us will be delighted with the new secure browsing possibilites. Just tell your little Fox to forget this site and everything’s fine
Well done, folks!
