All modern browser – ecxept IE – support the “DOMContentLoaded” event. Necessary hacks for IE slow down the start of jQuery.ready() on IE, which already has the slowest JavaScript engine of all browsers. See a way to speedup the exection of jQuery.ready() on IE.
